Molex Mini-Fit TPA, TPA2 Connector
The Molex Mini-Fit TPA connectors bring enhanced security to power applications with their unique Terminal Position Assurance (TPA) mechanism. This highly visible TPA pin confirms when each terminal is securely seated within the housing, ensuring that connections remain locked during assembly, mating, and regular operation. By preventing terminals from backing out, these connectors contribute to consistent, reliable power delivery. Equipped with a Connector Position Assurance (CPA) feature, the Mini-Fit TPA connectors also prevent unintended disconnection between male and female connectors. This design flexibility allows them to accommodate standard Mini-Fit crimp terminals, which simplifies integration, reduces design complexity, and accelerates qualification processes. Available in wire-to-wire and wire-to-board configurations, the Mini-Fit TPA series is versatile, supporting a wide range of circuit sizes from 2 to 16 positions and wire gauges from 16 to 28 AWG.
The Mini-Fit TPA2 connectors are engineered to meet the demands of high-current, high-density power applications across various industries. Designed with polarized housings, isolated terminals, and low-engagement forces, these connectors ensure proper alignment and prevent mismating, minimizing the risk of assembly errors. The TPA2 series features an advanced locking mechanism with an audible “click” that confirms secure mating, while isolated header pins and terminals prevent contact damage during handling and mating. The TPA2 connectors also include a secondary locking feature, which keeps terminals securely in place, even under mechanical strain, to reduce the risk of disconnection. Backward compatibility with Mini-Fit Jr. headers provides a seamless upgrade path for existing systems, with a 9.0 A current rating that meets the demands of modern power requirements without costly redesigns.

- TPA lock inserts into plug and receptacle housings to ensure that terminals are fully seated and guarantees that the terminals will not back out
- The optional CPA (Connector Position Assurance) key prevents accidental unmating
- No new tooling is required
- Up to 13.0 A per pin for increased current carrying capabilities
- Offered in wire-to-wire and wire-to-board configurations; headers available in mounting pegs or screw-mount flanges

- Reduces assembly error
- Ensures terminals are fully seated and will not back out
